Camp Mystic’s lawyers are responding to lawsuits filed by families of the victims of the deadly July 4th flood. Four lawsuits had been filed as of Tuesday, including two by groups of victims’ families and two by the families of individual campers.

The lawsuits accuse Camp Mystic, its owners, and its management of negligence and wrongful death. The camp’s legal counsel says the flood was unprecedented and therefore couldn’t have been anticipated. The layers also say the area had no adequate warning systems in place.
