California Governor Gavin Newsom has become the talk of an international climate conference in Brazil after he accused President Trump of “doubling down on stupid.” Before a capacity crowd, Newsom said, “Donald Trump is temporary.
California’s commitment is strong, and we’re in this for the long haul.” Newsom and his Democratic and Republican predecessors in the Governor’s mansion have made international climate policy a major goal.
Trump refused to send a delegation to the U.N. Climate Summit in Brazil as he focuses on coal and oil.
