By Former San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg is in the running to be the next Bexar County judge. Nirenberg announced his candidacy at a kickoff event on Saturday. Former County Judge Nelson Wolff was one of several supporters who spoke at the event.
Nirenberg was San Antonio’s mayor from 2017 to 2025, during the time of the pandemic and the 2021 winter storm. He said the issues he’s focusing on include housing and the cost of living. Nirenberg is challenging incumbent Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai.
