A Cameron County deputy has resigned after a weekend crash in Brownsville. The sheriff’s office says Hugo Dante Salinas, Junior resigned his position on Sunday. His resignation came after a crash in the 200 block of Rancho Viejo Boulevard early Sunday morning.
Investigators say the former deputy’s pickup was involved in the crash, but Salinas was not at the scene when police arrived. Salinas turned himself in on Monday and is now facing charges connected to the crash.
