One person is dead and six others are injured after an early Saturday crash in McAllen. Investigators say a Ford Bronco flipped over after a crash in the 16-hundred block of North Bicentennial Boulevard. Twenty-five-year-old Jacob Rodriguez died from injuries caused by the crash.
McAllen Mayor Javier Villalobos demanded action from state authorities, claiming the crash was linked to businesses in the 17th Street Entertainment District.
Villalobos said the state Alcoholic Beverage Commission should take immediate action to ensure that establishments that violate the law are held accountable. The crash is still under investigation, and charges are pending.
