Three men are facing murder charges after a weekend death near Edinburg. The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office began investigating on Sunday after 43-year-old Roberto Carlos Ornelas was found at a home on Calle Guillermo. Ornelas was pronounced dead after he was taken to the hospital, and investigators determined that he died from blunt force trauma to the head.
Israel Samilpa, Enriquez Cavazos Salainz and Jose Estreda were arraigned yesterday and charged with Ornelas’ murder. The judge set bond for each suspect at one-point-five-million dollars.
