Governor Greg Abbott says homeowners would pay less in property taxes if he is granted a fourth term as governor. Abbott talked about his tax cut proposals during an appearance in Weslaco Wednesday.
The governor says Texas has a big enough budget surplus to eliminate the school district property tax for homeowners. He also signed a taxpayer empowerment pledge that called for capping property assessment increases and limiting local government spending. Abbott said he plans to make Texas the most affordable state in America.
