Digital speed limit signs, which can be lowered for safety, are popping up on Texas highways. It’s the brainchild of State Representative Terry Canales, who passed the law allowing for their use. He said that TxDOT can temporarily lower the limit by ten-miles-per-hour during bad weather or if there is construction. The electronic speed limit signs have been spotted on I-35 in Fort Worth and in El Paso.
