The Dallas County Republican Party is dropping its plan to hand-count thousands of ballots in the March 3rd primary.
Dallas County GOP Chair Allen West announced on Tuesday in a social media post that the party will instead contract with the county elections department to use voting equipment in administering the election.
The party likely would have faced pressure if a hand-count had delayed election results beyond the state’s 24-hour reporting requirements in the GOP primary for US Senate, among other races.
