Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth wants to remove the barriers that keep companies like SpaceX from quickly developing new technology. Hegseth made an appearance at Starbase Monday as part of his “Arsenal of Freedom” tour.
Hegseth told SpaceX employees that the military needs to rebuild, and he called for the private sector to play a greater role in remaking America’s military presence around the world. He added that the U.S. must “win” the competition for 21st-century technological supremacy.
Senator John Cornyn was among the dignitaries joining Hegseth during the visit, and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk introduced his remarks.
