The medical marijuana industry in Texas is expecting to see continued growth this year. State officials expanded the Texas Compassionate Use Program in September. More medical conditions now qualify, including chronic pain and Crohn’s disease.

The expansion also added more treatment options, higher THC limits, and better dispensary access statewide. In addition, the number of authorized marijuana distributors will increase from three to 15. Distributors said earlier regulations hampered the program’s growth.
