A former Brownsville ISD teacher will spend 180 days in jail after pleading guilty to having an improper relationship with a student.
Julio Ricardo Trujillo was arrested last year after reportedly having sex with a 19-year-old student at Rivera Early College High School. He accepted a plea deal in December in exchange for a reduced sentence and revocation of his teaching license. He was granted credit for time served and will serve eight years of supervised probation after he is released.
