Three people have been arrested on human smuggling charges after an inspection at the Border Patrol checkpoint in Falfurrias. A truck hauling tires was stopped at the checkpoint last Wednesday morning.
A K-9 unit prompted a secondary investigation that found 14 people hiding in the truck. The driver said she was being paid to drive the truck from South Texas to Houston. The suspects are expected to be in federal court for a detention hearing tomorrow.
