Texas Republicans say a new campaign ad for Democratic US Senate candidate James Talarico overstates his role in passing a cap on the price of insulin. In the 30-second TV spot, Talarico claims credit for taking on “Big Pharma” and capping the out-of-pocket copay for insulin at 25 dollars a month.
Texas GOP Chair Abraham George says Talarico is “falsely claiming credit for Republican-led legislation.” State Senator Lois Kolkhorst of Brenham, chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee, points out that she authored the 2021 Senate bill that capped the insulin price.
