Edinburg CISD Addresses Rumors Of Shooting On Campus

The Edinburg school district is placing extra security at Robert Vela High School due to rumors of a school shooting.

A social media post from the district Tuesday called the rumors untrue and noted that the school was operating normally. Two district schools were placed on lockdown on Monday after a report of a possible weapon at the high school.

Three district students were arrested during that investigation. The extra security will remain at the high school until the end of the week.
