1700+ Private Schools In State Approved For Texas Voucher Program

More than 17-hundred private schools statewide are approved to participate in the Texas school voucher program.

Applications for the program started Wednesday and will continue until March 20th. About 148 private schools in the Austin area are participating in the Texas Education Freedom Accounts program.

The billion-dollar initiative is expected to help about 92 thousand Texas families pay for private or homeschool expenses over a two-year period.
