Concerns are growing in California that gas prices could go even higher after an oil refinery near San Francisco announced it was shutting down.
Valero Energy announced its plans last spring to close down its 145-thousand-barrel-per-day refinery by April.
The closure ended up happening over the weekend, driving up speculation that fuel prices in the state may now skyrocket.
