A teen is recovering after getting stuck in the mud at a Brownsville boat ramp. First responders were called to the Jaime Zapata Boat Ramp on Saturday morning after the teen boy became trapped waist-deep in an area surrounded by sharp oyster beds.

Firefighters used shovels to dig out around the teen, displacing water by using a class A extinguisher. The boy was transported to the hospital for treatment of cuts caused by the oyster beds.
