By Two Texas universities are named in TIME’s new list of the World’s Top Universities of 2026. Rice University is at No. 24, and the University of Texas at Austin is at No. 37. TIME’s list focuses on research output, innovation, and alumni outcomes, tracking how various universities turn education into influence.
The top 100 universities in TIME’s list include 42 in the United States and 18 in the United Kingdom. Oxford tops the list, followed by Yale, Stanford, MIT, and the University of Chicago.
