Hidalgo County election officials are reminding voters that they may be in a new congressional district. Texas lawmakers approved new congressional maps last year, and the U.S. Supreme Court said the new boundaries can be used for this year’s primaries and elections.
The biggest change affects northwest Hidalgo County, with some voters moving into District 28, which is currently represented by Democratic Congressman Henry Cuellar. Early voting for this year’s primary begins on Tuesday.
