McAllen’s mayor says city residents have a lot to look forward to in 2026 and beyond. Mayor Javier Villalobos gave his State of the City speech Wednesday at the McAllen Convention Center.

Villalobos noted that the city’s gross domestic product grew by more than 27 percent last year, while sales tax revenue increased by more than three-million dollars. He also noted that expansion projects are underway at the McAllen airport and Anzalduas International Bridge.
