A threat to an Edinburg middle school has been classified as non-credible by school district investigators. Authorities say someone called South Middle School yesterday and said two armed people were on the campus.

The caller demanded a payment of a thousand dollars in cryptocurrency to stop any potential violence. The campus was locked down for about 30 minutes while the threat was investigated. The FBI and the Texas Department of Public Safety are looking into the threat.
