Poll: Two Abbott-Backed GOP Candidates Behind In Polls

A recent poll shows two candidates backed by Governor Greg Abbott to be trailing in the GOP primaries.

Abbott supports Acting Comptroller Kelly Hancock in the March 3rd primary. But a U of H Hobby School of Public Affairs poll released last week shows Hancock running a distant third behind former state senator Don Huffines and Texas Railroad Commissioner Christi Craddick.

The governor is backing Nate Sheets in his challenge of long-term incumbent Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller. The poll shows Miller leading Sheets by 30 percentage points.
