There’s more fallout from the bombshell allegations that labor leader Cesar Chavez was abusing young women and minors.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott says the state will not observe the Cesar Chavez Day holiday, which is at the end of the month. In the upcoming legislative session, Abbott has said he will order state lawmakers to remove Cesar Chavez Day from state law altogether.
Governor Abbott called the allegations “horrific” and says he’s not worthy of official state celebration.
