Starting next week, smokable hemp will be banned in Texas. Industry leaders say this will wipe out what is sold at smoke shops, forcing them to close.

Heather Fazio, who heads the Texas Cannabis Policy Center, says the stores that survive are being hit with a huge fee hike.

Licenses will go from about 150-bucks to five-thousand dollars. The new rules do not affect gummies or THC-laced beverages
