Texas power generators are off the hook after the state Supreme Court ended lawsuits against them on Friday arising from the 2021 winter storm.
Several days of single-digit temperatures in Texas resulted in hundreds of deaths and billions of dollars in damage. The high court didn’t say why it ended the five separate appeals of the lawsuits from tens of thousands of Texas residents and small businesses who suffered power outages.
The plaintiffs included Centerpoint Energy and NRG Texas Power, who blamed the freakish weather for the damages.
