A McAllen police officer is recovering after being stabbed in the hand on Monday night.
Investigators say Officer Francisco Castillo was called to the 200 block of East Jay Avenue around 9:30 p.m. Forty-two-year-old Peter Harris of McAllen allegedly stabbed Castillo in the hand, leading Castillo to shoot Harris twice.
Harris was hospitalized for treatment, while Castillo was treated and released. The incident is still being investigated.
