A group of McAllen residents wants to stop federal authorities from using a local warehouse as a detention facility. Multiple people spoke against the idea during a city commission meeting yesterday.
The warehouse is reportedly located in an industrial park less than five miles from the Anzalduas International Bridge. The speakers told city leaders that they didn’t want any local tax dollars used for the facility. At least one city commissioner said he would support placing an item on the agenda to discuss the matter.
