A San Benito police officer is being honored by having part of a state highway named for him. State and local officials gathered yesterday to dedicate part of State Highway 345 to Lieutenant Milton Resendez.
Resendez was killed in 2023 after being shot during a police chase. The bill to rename the highway was sponsored by state Representative Janie Lopez, who said the memorial will serve as a lasting reminder of Resendez’s courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to serving others.
