President Trump reportedly used an airport catering truck as cover to secretly board a smaller U.S. military aircraft while leaving from the NATO summit in Turkey last month.
The Washington Post, citing an official and reviewed materials, said the decision happened during what intelligence officials described as a credible Iranian threat against the president.
Trump had arrived in Ankara on July 8th aboard a new Boeing 747-8 donated by Qatar, but security concerns led to officials to switching plans on the tarmac. After publicly boarding the legacy blue-and-white Boeing 747 for cameras, Trump was moved out of sight and into the catering truck positioned at a rear exit.
Minutes later, he and a small group of aides transferred to the smaller aircraft, leaving Turkey under heightened secrecy.
