The state of Texas is facing another lawsuit from several members of the hemp industry following the ban on almost all hemp-derived THC products. Four hemp retailers filed suit in federal court on Wednesday against the Texas Department of State Health Services.

The lawsuit claims the THC ban has resulted in the loss of tens of thousands of jobs, billions of dollars in lost revenue and a monopoly for the state’s medical marijuana program.

The plaintiffs say the state agency engaged in executive overreach by outlawing hemp-derived substances.
