A new data center is being built in Cameron County. A company called Fluidstack is building a four-billion-dollar facility near FM-509 and FM-106. About 25-hundred workers will be employed during the construction and several hundred others will have permanent jobs after the data center is complete.
The company is being praised for not being a burden to taxpayers by paying for energy, infrastructure, water and full local property taxes.
