Governor Greg Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick are calling for a criminal investigation of Texas Southern University’s finances.

An audit by the Texas State Auditor over the past few months has reportedly found hundreds of millions of dollars in spending on thousands of invoices that were either misdated or for vendors with expired contracts.

Patrick asked for an investigation, and Abbott has directed the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and the Texas Rangers to carry it out.
