Gov. Greg Abbott is planning a solidly conservative policy agenda to bring Texas out of the pandemic.

Abbott laid out some particulars in Monday night’s State of the State address. He pointed out the cost of the pandemic, but says the state’s comeback is already underway. He said Texas has added new jobs for the last eight months in a row, including more than 64-thousand in December.

The governor says the way forward will involve reduced regulations on businesses and a balanced state budget without tax increases.
