Governor Abbott is signing two bills into law to launch a 20-billion-dollar investment toward growing water shortages across the state. Those two pieces of legislature were signed yesterday and await voter consent in a November statewide ballot.

The bills will aim to repair aging water systems and invest in new supply sources. Half of the 20-billion-dollars will be used for infrastructure upgrades. The other half will support projects including pipelines and desalination.
