Abbott: Special Session Begins July 8th

The Texas Legislature will start its special session on July 8th. Governor Greg Abbott made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon.

An agenda has not been announced, but is expected to involve the election integrity bill, which House Democrats obstructed by walking off the floor.

Republicans want the bill passed in order to prevent voter fraud, while Democrats say it’s voter suppression. Bail reform is also expected to be on the agenda.
