Abbott To Call Special Session For Election Bill

Gov. Greg Abbott isn’t giving up on a new election reform bill. He plans to call a special session later this year to bring it back. He’s disappointed that the bill and another one to tackle bail reform didn’t pass on Sunday night.

House Democrats blocked votes on both by walking out before a midnight deadline. The governor says both issues are emergencies in the state, but didn’t reveal what other items might be added to the special session.
