An accused sex offender has died while in custody in Hidalgo County. The sheriff’s office says 55-year-old Romolo Toscano was taken into custody on two counts of child indecency last month.
Toscano had been in and out of the hospital due to health issues, and he reportedly fell ill again on Monday. He died at the hospital the following day. The sheriff’s office and the Texas Rangers are investigating his death.
