By The Astrodome its one step closer to being designated as a National Historic Landmark. The National Park Service has announced that the Dome meets the criteria to receive the nation’s highest historic designation.
The Astrodome Conservancy and Preservation Houston have been calling for the official recognition of the vintage arena. The landmark designation will ultimately require the approval of the US Secretary of the Interior. The Astrodome’s 61st anniversary is today.
