Austin Man Accused Of Participating In Capitol Riot Dies In Motorcycle Wreck


A man killed in a motorcycle crash in Austin last month is identified as a suspect in the riot at the U.S. Capitol. Officials say Joseph Barnes died in the wreck at Capital of Texas Highway and Westbank Drive on June Twelfth.

Investigators said Barnes ran a red light and collided with a car. He was charged with obstruction of justice and Congress, entering a restricted building, violent entry, and disorderly conduct for his alleged role in the January Sixth riot.
