A social media post from the City of Mission says police recovered the statue as part of their investigation into a San Antonio man who was arrested for driving a stolen vehicle. After Antonio Ramirez, Junior, was taken into custody, he confessed to a series of crimes, including the theft of two statues from the UVAL.

The butterfly statue was recovered from a flea market in Palmview and is now on display again outside the Art League’s building.
