Beach Closures Ordered; Coastal Flood, High Surf Warnings Extended

High water and gusty winds from Hurricane Delta have prompted the closure of Cameron County beaches. Boca Chica Beach along with Beach Accesses 3,4,5, and 6 have been ordered closed until further notice. All vehicles and beachgoers are prohibited from the county beaches, although Isla Blanca Park and Andy Bowie Park on South Padre Island are remaining open. Also, a Coastal Flood Advisory has been extended through 1 p.m., and a High Surf Warning and Rip Current Risk remain in effect through 7 p.m.
