Bexar County Jail Responds To State Non-Compliance Ruling

0

The Bexar County Jail is out of compliance with the Texas Commission on Jail Standards. The sheriff’s office announced Wednesday they’d received notice last week that the jail doesn’t meet state laws concerning minimum jail standards.

In order to regain compliance, the sheriff’s office says it will install an advanced system that notifies jail staff if an inmate is having a medical emergency. The jail has reported 13 inmate deaths so far this year.
