President Biden calls this a historic moment in the nation’s economic recovery. Speaking at the White House, Biden touted the three-point-nine percent jobless rate in December. That’s down from four-point-two percent in November. The economy added 199-thousand jobs last month, well below expectations. Biden highlighted the six-point-four million jobs that have been added since he took office.

The President cited “record wage gains” and added, “The Biden economic plan is working.” He played down reports of people quitting their jobs and said Americans are “moving up to better jobs.”

Biden rejected Republican claims that he’s not focused enough on inflation, calling it “malarkey.” He also cited ongoing improvements in relieving supply chain bottlenecks.
