President Biden says he warned Russian President Vladimir Putin about “severe” economic consequences if Russia invades Ukraine.  The leaders had a roughly two hour video conversation this week.  Talking with reporters at the White House, Biden said he’s “absolutely confident” Putin got the message.  He called the conversation polite, but added there were “no minced words.”  Biden suggested the U.S. will continue helping Ukraine boost its military capacity and said he wants to help “bring down the temperature” between Russia and Ukraine.  Russia has been amassing troops on the border with Ukraine.
