Beef prices are at a record high. Experts say much of this can be blamed on an historic drought that has decreased the size of herds.

Gary Joiner with the Texas Farm Bureau says the state’s beef cattle herd is at the lowest level since 2014. And it comes at a time when demand is high. Americans are looking to eat less processed food and more lean protein.
