Billionaire Democratic Party activist George Soros is throwing his influence into an upcoming Austin election, to the tune of a half-million-dollars.  The November 2nd ballot includes Proposition A, which would require the city to hire hundreds more police officers.  A political action committee that opposes Prop A says it has accepted a 500-thousand-dollar donation from Soros.  The 91-year-old New York billionaire often supports leftist political causes, and is lately targeting elected prosecutors he sees as too tough on criminals.
