Officials believe a body found near railroad tracks in Bexar County is connected to the six people found dead in a boxcar in Laredo.
In a news conference on Monday, Sheriff Javier Salazar said Union Pacific Railroad police found a man’s body around 1:30 p.m. near the tracks just outside Loop 1604.
ICE investigators say the bodies in Laredo were part of an apparent human smuggling operation on Sunday afternoon.
Officials believe the Bexar County body was part of the same group. The Medical Examiner is working to identify the man and determine his cause and manner of death.
