A Border Patrol agent is facing charges connected to the abuse of a young girl. The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office says 37-year-old Derek James Dominguez was arrested for indecency with a child Thursday.
The abuse reportedly started in 2023 and continued through December of last year. The Border Patrol has not commented on the charges or Dominguez’s employment status. Bond for Dominguez was set at 50-thousand dollars, and jail records indicate that he was released Thursday.
