Border Patrol Announces Drug Seizures At Progresso Point Of Entry


Customs and Border Protection officers are being credited with seizing over a million dollars in drugs at the Progresso Point of Entry in Hidalgo County.

Officers seized 43 packages of marijuana from a Mexican citizen on November 6th. Later that day, officers found dozens of packages of heroin and cocaine worth over 800-thousand-dollars in a vehicle driven by a U.S. citizen.

An inspection on November 8th resulted in the seizure of about 14-pounds of heroin from another U.S. citizen. The total value of the seizures is estimated at nearly one-point-three-million-dollars.
